Hi, I am Sarah with Decor by Denise and today I am going to be talking to you about how to select the right bed for your room.

Pick a Twin Bed for a Child's Room

When selecting the right bed for your room, it's important to keep in mind, the size options available and the advantages and disadvantages of each option. To get started, the smallest bed that's offered today is twin, also referred to as a single. These beds are great for rooms with children, because they are very small and easy to make daily. The cost of bedding is low for a twin size bed, but the only disadvantage of the twin bed is they won't comfortably fit most adults.

Pick an Extra-Long Twin Bed for a Dorm Room

Moving up we have the extra long twin. These are often used in dorm rooms because they are five inches longer than a standard twin and are great for guest bedrooms because they will be long enough to fit most adults comfortably.

Pick a Double Bed for a Teen's Room

Then we have the double or the full sized bed. These are only 15 inches wider than a twin, so often times it's not big enough for a couple to share more than a night or so, but would be a great option for a growing teenager.

Pick a Queen Bed for an Adult Couple's Room

Moving out from that we have a queen-size bed, which is actually the most popular bed out there today. Queens are great options for adult couples because they'll be bigger than a double. They are also the most popular option out there today so what you will find is you will find multiple bedding options available, at a cost that's going to be less expensive than a king size.

Two Options for Picking a Kind Bed for a Large Room

Last step, we have king size beds. There are two options available when it comes to king size beds. You have a standard king and you have a Californian king. Most adult couples find these beds to be the most comfortable as they'll give you the most space, but if you are over 6'6" you might want to go ahead and opt for the Californian king as it will give you an additional 4" in length.

Cons for Picking a King Bed for Your Room

But keep in mind that these beds are very cumbersome and for single people they are often just too large. They can be difficult to get upstairs and the bedding for these beds tends to be quite expensive.

And those are some tips for selecting the right bed for your room. Happy shopping!
