Transcript:Quick Tips: How to Make Easy Caper SauceHi, I'm Stephanie Gallagher for About.com, and today, I'll show you how to make a creamy caper sauce.
Ingredients for Easy Caper SauceFor this recipe, you will need:
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 3 cups chicken, beef or veal stock or any combination of the three
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. chopped capers
Instructions for Making Easy Caper SauceStart by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the flour, and whisk it in until it turns a golden color.Now add the white wine, and whisk until there are no lumps.Add the stock and the lemon juice, and whisk constantly over medium heat until the sauce thickens. Then stir the capers and cook a few minutes more.Serve this caper sauce over meatballs, chicken breasts or even just pasta.
