Ingredients for Chocolate Peanut Butter

To make chocolate peanut butter, you will need:
  • 1/2 cup chopped semisweet chocolate
  • 1-1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp instant coffee
  • 1 tsp hot water

Instructions for Making Chocolate Peanut Butter

Start by melting the chopped chocolate. Microwave it in 30-second intervals until it's melted, stirring after every 30 seconds to keep it from overheating. Stir until the chocolate is completely smooth, then set it aside to cool until it's barely warm but still liquid. Scrape the cooled chocolate into a large bowl. To the bowl of chocolate, add the peanut butter, softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir gently with a spatula until everything is well-combined and smooth, and there are no patches of chocolate, peanut butter, or dry powdered sugar remaining. Mix the instant coffee with the hot water in a small bowl or cup, and stir until the coffee dissolves. Add the coffee to the chocolate peanut butter mixture, stir until it's combined, and once everything is mixed, your chocolate peanut butter is finished!

Ideas for Chocolate Peanut Butter

You can scrape it into glass jars to give as a gourmet gift, or to sell at a bake sale. Or, you can just enjoy it yourself on cookies, crackers, toast, or as a filling for a cake. You may never go back to regular peanut butter again!
