Transcript: Baked Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Hi, I'm Chris Chmura for About.com Food. No matter whether they're served as a side dish or the main course, teriyaki chicken wings are a flavorful addition to any meal. They're also surprisingly simple and inexpensive to make.

Ingredients for Teriyaki Chicken Wings

You'll need:
  • your desired amount of wings
  • teriyaki sauce
  • sesame seeds

Cut and Wash the Chicken

Begin by cutting each wing at the joint to separate it into two pieces. Now wash them under cold water and pat them with a paper towel until they're dry.

Marinate the Chicken in Teriyaki Sauce

In a large bowl, combine the wings with a generous amount of teriyaki marinade. Mix well to ensure there's equal coverage.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and store in the refrigerator for about 12 hours.

Bake the Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Next, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Add a cooling rack to a baking pan, and spread the wings in a single layer. Evenly pour the marinade over the wings. Cover with aluminum foil, and bake for a half hour.

Take the pan out of the oven, remove the foil, and place it back in the oven for about 10 minutes until the skin becomes a bit crispy.

Serve the Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Move the wings in a serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and enjoy.

If you're not a fan of teriyaki, you can easily substitute just about any of your favorite flavors to create your own kitchen concoction.
