It is a good idea to de-clutter the home, take down the personal items. This might include wedding photography, pictures of children. These items will cause a potential buyer to imagine your life in your home, you want the potential buyer to imagine their life in your home. Really try to disassociate yourself with the home. Try moving out one room at a time. Just focus on the den first and then the guest bedroom. From there you can clean up the living room, eventually making your way to the kitchen and finally the bedroom. If possible, even consider moving out. Leave just a few items like a dinner table, couch, staging items. But the cleaner and more open it is the more a buyer will imagine their life at the home. When a buyer is considering buying a home it is essential that they look in the closets and the pantry. Another good idea is to rent a storage unit.
