Transcript:Hair Removal: See the Waxing TechniqueHi, I am Anjali Arora, Master Specialist of hair removal and skin care at Shobha, for About.com, and today I am going to show you a process of hair removal known as waxing.
Hair Waxing SuppliesSo the supplies you need for waxing include a can of wax. It should be heated to warm, not very watery, so that it is hot on the skin. And you need some spatulas to dip into the wax and some muslin to remove it. It is that simple. If you have these three things at home, and you know how to apply, press, stretch, and pull, you can do this at home.
Prepare Skin for WaxingStephanie has been kind enough to donate her leg hair for removal. Stephanie, have you applied any oil or lotion on your legs today? No? Good, so you were all prepared for wax hair removal. So what I will do, I will take a little talcum powder.
Hair Growth After WaxingWhen the hair is being pulled from the follicles, it takes two weeks for them to grow. And when they grow, they are not blunt, so when they grow they are finer and they do not irritate the skin. So I would say it is very good to wax as compared to shaving, because with shaving you will get the hair back the next day. With this, you are good for two weeks, at least. And when they even start coming out, you do not see the hair because they are not to their full length. To get to full length it takes 58 to 63 days, when it is pulled out from the follicle.
So now, I will apply some calming lotion. Okay Stephanie, you are all soft and silky. See you in four weeks!
