Texas Beach Basics
All of the beaches in Texas have one thing in common -- the water temperature is usually warm, making it great for swimming, surfing, or using a boogie boards to ride the waves.
Texas Beach Options for Families
But if you are looking for mainly family friendly beaches, full of activity, try the Stewart Beach in East Galveston. This beach does not allow alcohol and is clean and safe but there is usually a small fee to enter Stewart Beach.
Rockport Beach further South on the Texas Gulf Coast is another great family friendly beach. Here you will have lifeguards on duty and the family can also enjoy a bird sanctuary. This beach is also considered one of the cleanest beaches in Texas and close to restaurants, shops and other attractions.
For those who want a very relaxing beach and a peaceful escape, Port Aransas and Mustang Island may be the beach to visit, especially if you like to fish. World class charter fishing takes place here. The beach is also far from city noise.
Texas Beach Options for College Students
For College students, there is nothing that compares to South Padre Island, in Texas. Located at the southernmost tip of Texas this beach has amenities for everyone, but particularly caters to students during spring break.
If you want more options besides sunbathing and swimming, visit Corpus Christi, located right on the Gulf of Mexico. There you can visit the Texas Sate Aquarium and the USS Lexington Museum.
Texas Beaches on a Budget
If you are on a budget most of the Texas Beaches are considered budget friendly but some do have a small fee for all day access. However if you want to splurge, visit Galveston Island along the Seawall. The San Luis Hotel and Resort and historic Hotel Galvez and Spa both offer luxury accommodations and four star dining experiences.
