Hello I'm Gina Miller her today with About.com to share some tips on what you should bring to Texas Beaches.
Items to Bring to a Texas Beach
#1. Sunscreen. Use sunscreen no matter what time of year you visit Texas beaches, even on cloudy days. SPF 30 is ideal for adults, and SPF 50 for children. Remember to re-apply often.
#2. Wear Comfortable shoes, and bring a back up pair. The sand is very hot in the Summer and sometimes there are hidden sharp objects or sticks in the sand that can cut your bare feet.
#3. Bring a cover up or T shirt with sleeves. The heat is intense and even though there may be a breeze and you may have on sunscreen, you can still get a painful. So cover up for awhile each day.

#4. Bring two swimsuits. There is nothing worse than having to put on a wet damp saltwater soaked suit if you want to take a quick dip at your hotel pool before heading to bed.
#5 Bring more than one Beach towel. One for the lounger and one for drying off.
#6. Bring activity items. A Frisbee, football, volleyball, surf kites, kites for flying, boogie boards, surf board, kayak, or just a simple bucket and shovel for building sand castles. Oh and a pair of Binoculars for bird watching is also a good idea.
#7. Bring a cooler of ice filled with non alcoholic drinks like water and Gatorade. This will help you stay hydrated and remember to always throw away your trash in designated areas or you may incur a fine.
#8. Good things to have on hand. A Hat or visor, sunglasses, your IPod or MP3 player for music with ear buds, a lounger or chair, a first aid Kit and a large beach bag to hold your towels, extra clothes and shoes.
Laws at Texas Beaches
Finally check the website of the Texas beach you are visiting to learn more about the specific laws of that beach. Many Texas beaches have strict laws against alcohol consumption, driving on the beach building bonfires or cooking on the beach. Most of all be safe!
