Hi, I'm Shane Murphy, your technology Guru for About.com. Today we'll review how to embed YouTube Videos.

Information on How to Embed YouTube Videos

With your video open, first click the “embed” button found directly below the video. If you're on a channel page, you'll need to first click on “View Comments, related videos, and more” to be taken to the video itself. You'll see a few fields open up below, the most important of which is the embed HTML. Copy and paste this into the "edit HTML" field on your blog editor to see the video show up on that page.If you want to customize the size of your embedded video, you can adjust the frame size at the bottom to suit your needs. Note that you cannot change the aspect ratio like this.If you'd like to disable cookies for your embedded video's audience, you can click the box for "enable privacy-enhanced mode" and YouTube will not collect information about your viewers.

How to Add Additonal Privacy When You Embed YouTube

Click the "Use HTTPS" and you can add another layer of privacy in the form of encryption as well. It may be that your website doesn't support YouTube's new embed code, in which case it won't display properly on your webpage. To remedy this, simply check "use old embed code" to see the old format generated in the field. Check out About.com's dedicated Google channel for more useful information on optimizing Google's wide array of applications. Thanks for watching…to learn more, visit About.com!
