Transcript:What Is a Lone Ranger Golf Tournament?
Hi golfers, I'm PGA Professional Todd Kolb. We're going to talk about a golf format called the lone ranger.
Lone Ranger Golf Tournament Format
In the game the lone ranger the format is pretty simple, it's typically played with three person teams or a four person team. Now today we happen to have a three person team of Tyler, myself and Justin.
Roles in the Lone Ranger Golf Tournament
Now the format is quite simple, each one of us is designated the lone ranger on a particular hole. If you are the lone ranger, your score no matter what it is, is going to count towards the teams score on that particular hole. The other players on the team, we're going to take the best score out of all of them and that will be the second score for our team on that particular hole.
Alternating in a Lone Ranger Golf Tournament
Now we're going to generally alternate from one hole to the next so this hole is my hole, the next hole will be Justin, he'll be the lone ranger and on the third hole Tyler will be the lone ranger. Now on this hole, since I'm the lone ranger my score will count no matter what it is. We're going to take the best score between Justin and Tyler for the second score on our team.
The game lone ranger is a team game, typically played once again with four people or as we're playing it here today with three people. One score from the lone ranger and then the best score from the other players on your team.
