I'm Todd Kolb with About.com. We're going to talk about etiquette on the tee box.

Don't Distract Other Golfers in Tee Box

When your group arrives to the tee box, the person with the lowest score on the previous hole has the honor, or the right, to play first. Be sure to stand in a position where you're not a distraction to your fellow golfers. You should be quiet and standing still. Also, use this time to gather any information you might need to play your own shot. Be sure to watch your fellow competitor's golf ball until it comes to rest in case they need help finding it.

Leave Tee Box in a Timely Fashion

Finally, once you've completed your shot, be sure to gather your equipment and move off the tee box in a timely fashion. We all know etiquette is a big part of golf and it starts on the tee box. Make sure and let the person who has the honors hit first, always stand in a position where you're not going to be moving around and nice and quiet, and most importantly, keep an eye on the golf ball in case one of your fellow players needs help finding it.
