"It's the most wonderful time of the year," and nowhere else is the holiday season more beautifully and brightly lit than in St. Augustine, Florida during the Nights of Lights celebration. Here's what you can experience if you plan to be in the local area.

Information About the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine

Nights of Lights begins in late November and continues through the end of January. During that time, the entire city is aglow with over two million tiny, white lights. This celebration is based on the Spanish tradition of lighting luminarias at Christmas time. Must-see areas of the city include the Downtown Plaza, Government House, Cordova Street, the Casablanca Inn and the Plaza de la Constitucion.

Both little ones and adults will be in awe of the shear beauty – not to mention, planning – that goes into this event. Although the lights themselves may take center stage, there are also over two dozen events that take place during Nights of Lights. There's also ice skating, a regatta, holiday concerts and evening shopping events. To cap it all off, there's even a parade and a marathon.
