Transcript:Disney Annual Pass Overview

Hi, I'm Ted Menzies for About.com with some tips for purchasing an annual pass to Walt Disney World.

Information About Disney Annual Passes

If you're one of the more than 17 million people who will visit Disney world this year, you have many ticket options. But if you plan on staying for more than 10 days, or if you'll be making more than one trip in a 365 day period, an annual pass is probably your best bet.

Perks of the Disney Annual Pass

An annual pass allows the holder to enter any of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. As with a park hopper, annual pass holders may visit more than one park per day. Also included with the pass is free parking and use of Disney's onsite transportation system.

Disney Annual Pass

There is also a premium annual pass available, which grants access to the two water parks, ESPN's wide world of sports, the Disneyquest indoor interactive theme park and greens fees at the Oak Trail golf course. Remember that annual passes are good for 365 days from the time of first use, rather than a specific year. Florida residents can enjoy specially discounted rates with proof of residency. They have the choice between the standard annual pass, premium annual pass or what's called a seasonal pass. The seasonal pass grants admission throughout the year with certain blackout dates when crowds are heaviest, such as the week of Christmas and spring break.

Disney's Vacation Club

Members of Disney's vacation club may also purchase discounted annual passes. All holders of an annual pass receive special discounts on resort hotels, dining and merchandise. In addition, there are regular annual passholder events that are by invitation only. Annual passes do not include admission to special events such as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
