Taking the Train to Rome From Fiumicino Airport
The Fiumicino Airport in Rome is often referred to as the Leonardo da Vinci Airport. This is the closest international airport to the center of Rome. The most convenient way to travel from the airport to Rome is by the Leonardo Express train. After collecting your baggage, follow the signs to the Railway station located in the airport. You can purchase tickets for the express train from the station agent or from an electronic kiosk at the station. The ticket costs about 11 Euros and runs frequently until around 11pm.
Train Ride to Rome Takes Half an Hour
The trip takes approximately half an hour to reach Rome's Termini Station. Another, slower option is a local train that makes more frequent stops and goes around the city. You can also purchase these tickets at the airport station from an agent or kiosk. Here's a tip: Keep your bags close to you while on the train, as Rome is known for its petty thieves and pickpockets. And those are tips for traveling from Fiumicino airport to central Rome by train.
