Transcript:Tour the Top Nude Beaches in Europe
Hello, I'm Milo for About.com and today we're talking about some popular nude beaches in Europe.
Etiquette at Nude Beaches in Europe
If you're coming from a culture outside Europe you should know that nudity is far more accepted here than in other societies around the world. You can even see families on these beaches. Very isolated beaches may be more adult than others, but discretion is generally expected when it comes to public displays of affection. Also, in addition to these 3 beaches mentioned here there are many many more, some right in front of metropolitan areas. You just don't have to go far to find a nudist beach almost anywhere on much of Europe's Mediterranean coast.
Visiting Plage de Tahiti in Saint Tropez
Plage de Tahiti. In Saint Tropez, one of the most famous beach cities in the world, is Plage de Tahiti, or Tahiti Beach. Toplessness is fairly normal along many beaches in France and Spain especially, but Plage de Tahiti is clothing optional. The beach is rather developed with clubs and restaurants and many places to have a VIP experience. It should be noted that Saint Tropez is both pricey and popular. The summer months can see literally tens of thousands of visitors per day and transportation is not easy. There are no trains and parking is scarce. As for etiquette, it is not uncommon for the rich and famous to show up on yachts or via helicopter. If you happen to catch a celebrity on the beach or out and about, be nonchalant. No one enjoys a gawker at any beach much less a nude one.
Visiting Paradise Beach in Mykonos
Paradise Beach On the island of Mykonos is Paradise Beach. There are many ways of getting there, check out our site on the topic for more details. This beach is definitely a party beach and gets more wild as the sun sets. It is also a popular destination for gay tourists. Generally speaking it is not as nudist as it has been in the past, but you'll find that these trends come and go and you may just have to see for yourself. Nonetheless, there are a couple bars and clubs on the beach and lots of fun to be had.
Visiting Playa d'en Bossa in Ibiza
Playa d'en Bossa - Ibiza, Spain. Ibiza, sitting below Barcelona and across from Valencia in the Mediterranean has been one of Europe's summer hot spots for some time. Once a pirates' hangout, it now hosts hedonism of a different sort. Almost 2 miles south of the main town of Ibiza along the coast is Platja D'en Bossa or Playa D'en Bossa in Spanish. It has beach bars called chirunguitos, and lots of partying which is Ibiza's specialty. Have you ever partied under a fortress on the beach? Officially the clothing optional part is called La Playa Es Cavallet and is towards the end of this very long beach, touching the southern tip of the island. You can take a nice long stroll on the sand to get there or jump in a quick taxi ride. The entire expanse is full of fun things to do, from sports to lounging, eating and drinking to dancing. You won't be at a loss for things to do.
