Transcript:How to Make Dairy-Free Peanut Butter Cookies
Hi, I'm Ilyse Schapiro, pediatric dietition and nutritionist, and I'm here for About.com to show you how to make my dairy-free, three-ingredient, peanut butter cookies. Peanut butter is a classic and most kids love it -- it's a huge hit in my household, so whenever I can use it, I try to include it in most of my recipes.
Ingredients for Dairy-Free Peanut Butter Cookies
So, the first ingredient to use is:
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
Make the Dairy-Free Peanut Butter Cookies
So, first we're going to crack the egg into the bowl, and lightly beat it. Next we're going to put in 1 cup of peanut butter -- now this peanut butter came from the cabinet, so it was warm, not cold from the refrigerator. If you use peanut butter that was already in the refrigerator, you may want to leave it out for a little bit. And finally, one cup of sugar. Now, you’re going to combine all of the ingredients together. Right now, I’m using a spatula, you can use a hand mixer, again if the peanut butter is a little harder to mix.
Bake the Dairy-Free Peanut Butter Cookies
Next, we're going to drop it by a tablespoon onto a baking sheet, and bake at 325 for 8-10 minutes. So, there you have it: my dairy-free, three-ingredient, simple peanut butter cookies. Dairy-free for your kids, with that classic peanut butter taste. For more information on dairy-free sweet recipes for kids, visit About.com.
