Hi, this is John Grady with Halls Atlanta Floral Design School for About.com. Today, we're going to give you some tips on choosing the best flowers for your wedding.
Choose Flowers for Your Wedding Theme
When choosing flowers, there are many things to take in mind. There's the bride's bouquet, the bride's maid's bouquet. There are the flowers for the ceremony, as well as the flowers for the reception. A lot of times you may have a theme or a color scheme. These are things you want to take into consideration.
If it's a beach theme you may want to choose exotic flowers. If you're choose more of a romantic theme at a Victorian home, you may want to choose flowers like roses and hydrangeas.
In your flower selection, you do want to make sure that the bride's bouquet, as well as the bride's maids' bouquets correspond in some fashion. Whether it deals with flowers, the type of flower, or texture. You also have the flower girl, you have the boutonnières, you have the mothers, and the other personal flowers.
Know Your Budget for Wedding Flowers
In working on your wedding, a budget is always something you need to consider; and there are many ways of going about getting that budget to work in your fashion. Work with your designer to help you know how to best work that budget.
Personalize Your Wedding Flowers
In selecting your flowers, you do want to do something that says who you are. You always want to put your personal stamp on your wedding.
When selecting the colors for you wedding, you may want to go to a color wheel. It's a great way to decide rather you want to work with complimentary, split complimentary, or tertiary colors. The color wheel will help you be able to choose which ones work well together. Each season will, of course, supply you with different color schemes. So you also want to consider the time of the year that your wedding is and then go to your color wheel from there.
So when it comes to the final decision in your wedding know that they're are no set rules. This is your wedding day. It's your day to pick and choose the colors and the feel you want for your wedding.
