Transcript:Get Started with Feng Shui

Hi, I am Carol Olmstead with Feng Shui for Real Life and today I'm showing you the basics of getting started in feng shui. There are five feng shui basics called power principles that help you get started using feng shui to attract wealth, harmony, love and much more.

Feel Chi to Get Started With Feng Shui

Power principle number one is called chi, and it's the energy making you feel good or bad in a location. Like Goldilocks, you know when the chi in a room is not too strong, not to week, which is right. You can get started in feng shui by assessing how the chi feels in each room and making some adjustments.

Learn the Five Elements to Get Started With Feng Shui

Power principle number two is called the five elements, and it's the name that feng shui gives to colors and shapes.

The next tip for getting started with feng shui is to notice the balance of elements around you and how they make you feel. The fire element colors are red and orange and they add passion. The earth element colors are brown and yellow and they bring stability.

The metal element colors or white and the metallics, they provide strength. The water element colors are deep-blue and black to help you relax, and finally the wood element color of green helps you grow.

Use a Ba Gua to Get Started With Feng Shui

Power principle number three is the ba gua, and it's the mapping chart to divide your home into nine areas and to determine where to place furniture and objects. You can get started in feng shui by using a ba gua do divide your home into these life areas, wealth, future, love, children, helpful people, career, harmony, family and well-being.

Embrace Yin and Yang to Get Started With Feng Shui

Power principle number four is known as yin and yang or the balance of opposites. Take a look around you to make sure you have contrast and balance in every room. Like dark and light, geometrics and florals, soft and hard.

Learn Continuity and Connectedness to Get Started With Feng Shui

Power principle number five is called continuity and connectedness, and it means that the more you surround yourself with images of what you want to attract, the more likely you are too attractive.

Another way to get started in feng shui is to make sure your artwork represents what you want to attract into your life.

So that's the basics of getting started in feng shui. Thanks for watching!
