Hi, I'm Kelsie with About.com and today I'd like to give you a few tips on checking the flow of chi to ensure good Feng Shui in your home.
What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is a Chinese term. Translated it means, 'wind and water'. Proper Feng Shui is purposely arranging the things around you to promote the chi in your home and gain positive results.
How to Promote Chi in Your Home
Think of the flow of chi as water. If water were to flow from your front door, would it flow freely from room to room or would it be blocked?
Not only can chi be blocked by furniture and objects, it can also be blocked by dirt, dust, clutter and broken items found around your home. So it is important to de-clutter and clean your home often. You will also want to create an entryway that is clear and open. This makes it easy for positive chi energy (and valuable opportunities) to enter.
Some things that keep Chi Flowing are:
- Moving water and objects, such as mobiles or chimes.
- Mirrors, which help circulate and bounce chi back into your home.
- And light, which can be essential to improving chi. Consider opening windows to let more natural light in as often as possible.
These are only a few ways to improve the flow of chi in your home. For more information about Feng Shui and Chi, please visit About.com.
Thanks so much for watching.
