Transcript:What to Wear to Fashion Shows
Hi, this is Dar Lopez, for About.com. I'm here to give you some tips on what to wear to a fashion show.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Leather Jacket
A leather jacket is always a great option. It ups the cool factor to any outfit and it goes with just about anything in your closet. For this look with the leather jacket, I paired it with a sweater dress, some tights, knee-high boots, and now I'm ready to rock the fashion show.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Vintage
Vintage is always a popular look at fashion shows. Designers are constantly bringing back fashions from other decades and bringing them back to the present. A pencil skirt is a must in every closet. When you pair it with a vintage jacket, you got a great outfit.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Blazer
A grey blazer always looks great at the fashion show and when you add a pop of color, you really stand out. The grey blazer might be a little boring or too business-like by itself, but when paired with a red dress - it spices it up.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Black and White
Black and white are always chic. You can't go wrong with a black and white outfit. You can mix it up; there are so many options. With black and white, the accessories really matter. You can change it all up by just changing your accessories.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Faux Fur
Faux fur is always fun and definitely belongs at a fashion show. There are so many options now: collars, jackets, pretty much anything - you can even get a faux fur purse. Just a simple outfit can be dressed up with some purple fur, a denim jacket, and skirt.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Shirt Dress
A shirt dress is a great option. It's comfortable, easy to wear, and very easy to dress up. Just some accessories, the right shoes, maybe some boots and you'll look great. For this look, I paired a shirt dress, with some boots, and a belt and "voila!" I'm ready to go.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Favorite Designer
I think wearing a piece from your favorite designer is a great idea. It's not like they're going to come out and point you out of the audience and say "thanks for wearing my piece," but it does show your love a little. The silver suit, paired with a scarf and a designer pin, gets you noticed.
Fashion Show Wardrobe: Shoes
As far as shoes go, you definitely want them to go with your outfit, and they can change an outfit. Stilettos, knee-high boots, ankle boots, wedges, they all rock. Ballet flats, if you're looking for something a little more comfortable. But definitely, make a statement with your shoes.
