Hi, I'm Kim Johnson Gross. Congratulations you're having a baby. You've lots to plan for and the last thing you are going to want to worry about is what to wear throughout your pregnancy.
Here are some quick tips to get you started:

When to Buy Your Maternity Wardrobe

Don't buy your maternity wardrobe as soon as you find out you're pregnant. You have plenty of time to buy pieces as your body grows. You can start by borrowing some clothes from your husbands closet.

Maternity Wardrobe Accessories

Now that your body is bigger you can wear bolder jewelry and bolder accessories. Here's where you can spend some money because you can wear these things long after baby is born.

Maternity Shoes

Chances are your feet will swell. You may even go up a shoe size. Get comfortable shoes but don't blow the budget here.

Build a Maternity Wardrobe

Wardrobe principles also apply to building a maternity wardrobe. Start with a few key pieces in neutral colors. You're best investment would be a simple pair of pants and a simple skirt in neutral color. Remember darker colors are more slimming. Then all you have to do is buy a variety of tops to suit your various lifestyle needs.

Your Maternity Wardrobe Style

Some women choose to celebrate their pregnancy by wearing form fitting tops, even bikinis. Others think they have to hide under loose fitting clothes which will actually make you feel bigger. Go for form-fitting tops that will show-off your best features. Whether it's your soldiers or your now enlarged breast, actually an empire waist will give you form and allow baby to grow. And a V neck is always flattering to bring attention to your face.

With a few smart purchases you can have a versatile wardrobe that won't put a dent in the baby budget, but will keep you feeling comfortable and looking stylish until baby arrives.
