Let's face it, not all of us are at our ideal weight or size. I'm going give you a few examples of how certain types of clothing can actually make you look ten pounds thinner.

Examples of Thinning Looks That Make You Look 10 Pounds Slimmer

This is my friend Tina. Tina looks great, but with a different selection of clothing she can look even better.I chose this dress for Tina because it's a great fabric – it's a cotton jersey, it drapes the body beautifully, it hides the things we want to hide but it accentuates the bustline, and it's very easy to wear. It can be worn dressed up with a high heel or boot for evening with the right jewelry, or it can be worn casually with a flat for daytime. Either way it's a great option for her body.

Here we have another example of a slimming look. First of all it's black which is always the best color to chose for slimming, it's also a cotton material – it's basically a t-shirt dress that she's wearing. It's not too clingy, it's very comfortable to wear.

On the sides of the dress it's called shirring, where the fabric is pulled, it gives the illusion of a flat belly, it's very flattering, not too tight. Again, it's the fabric, the fabric is very important. We added a jacket which also has a tapered waist and a little bit of a shoulder pad which is back in style, believe it or not. It's a beautiful jacket, it's tapered well, again it's close to the sides of her waist which gives the illusion of a nice small waist which is something we all want.

What Tina is wearing now is an example of a wrap dress. It's more of a tunic, this one, it's worn with leggings and boots. The wrap drapes very softly across the front, it's not too tight on the side, it's got a nice long sleeve and an asymmetrical hem which really gives it some dramatic flair. It's a silk fabric, it drapes nicely and draping is really the thing that we're looking for, and I think it's very flattering on her.
