Hi! My name is Tina Gill with WorthWhile Style, and today, I am going to talk to you about a variety of different cocktail dresses; kind of how to dress them up and down, what accessories you should wear with them, and what is the perfect length for a cocktail dress.

About Classy Cocktail Dress Looks

So first, I am going to start out with what Katy is wearing and she has got this great little blue strapless number on. And the nice thing about it for her is that she has a narrower shoulder so this horizontal line that's created, actually broadens her shoulder a little bit. If you have a broader shoulder, this is a look that you are going to want to avoid. The nice thing too about this dress is that it's cinched in at the middle and we popped a belt right over that elastic part in the middle and it's going to make her look even smaller.

Second, I want to talk about the little black dress. Every woman should have a little black dress in their wardrobe. These are great for every occasion; you can go on to the symphony in them, you can go out to dinner with your husband, you can do anything in these. And the nice thing about them is that they are that simple and black. So you can change them up to show your own true personality. This is a great statement piece to add touch and flair to the little black dress and make it your own.

Something else that could be fun within, is adding a cool little vest that has some sparkle on it. And this is just another great way to change up a simple black dress and make it your own; add sparkle, adds detail, it adds interest and it's fun. Perfect for going out!

Another style of the little black dress is this one that has a lace overlay over it. This is great for all different body types because it has a V-neck which is going to open up your face and make you appear taller, longer and leaner. Plus it has an A-line skirt bottom to it which is perfect for women that have a little bit wider hip or a wider thigh, because what it does is it hits you here at the center and it floats away from your body.

So it's perfect for all different body shapes, plus, with a wider band up here, you can wear a standard style of bra and get the support that you need. This is great paired with some little bit vintage shoe, you can do all sorts of different jewellery with it, you could pop a fun little handbag with this, and just mix and match, that's a great thing about a little black dress; make it your own.

Every woman has a little black dress in her wardrobe. So I recommend having some color. This one has sparkle, detailed interest. Another reason I like this, narrow at the waist. If you have an hourglass figure, perfect for you. It's going to show off the smallest part of your body. If you have a wider hip, it's going to camouflage that with this little bubble skirt.

And one of my favorite dresses is this crisscross neckline. All women, most women don't really like this part of their body. So a crisscross neckline is going to hide that and camouflage that. This too has a nice wide band creating a waistline, if you don't have one or enhancing it if you do. For cocktail dresses, the lengths that you want to look at are right above your knee or right at your knee. That's the smallest part of your leg and that's what you are going to want to accentuate and have your dress stop at.

Thanks for watching!
