Hi, I'm Shane Murphy, your technology guru for About.com. Today, we'll review tips for playing Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures.

Getting Started With Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures

Clone Wars Adventures is easy and free to setup and start playing. After clicking "Sign Up", you'll be prompted to create your character's appearance and name, then your user account information. Agree to the terms of service and then download the web client that functions alongside the game. Once you've logged in, you'll see that there's tons to check out and do just from your main HUD screen.

Customize Your Clone Wars Adventures Character

Talk to one of the characters in the main area to play one of the mini games. You can buy power ups for a bit of a leg up in these mini games, or just rely on skill. Earning credits by playing games is THE way to advance in the game, even if you're just killing time waiting for your friends to log on. Hit the play games button at any time to bring up different games at your disposal. The "My Character" button will let you customize all aspects of your character, including gear, appearance, your light saber and more. Many of these upgrades require a Jedi membership and cost money.

Buying Content in Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures

Sticking in the main areas will always give you ample opportunity to meet and talk to new people. You cannot fight each other here, but it's a great opportunity to make friends and see what kind of gear different character types can get. Check out your communicator to see different friend requests, and see special offers from the game to upgrade for new content. You can also join squads here, which will allow you to team up for special mini games and other activities. Star Wars: Clone War Adventures is free to sign up for and start playing, but you'll quickly find that most of the premium content must be paid for. Additionally, many of the items could find in the game can be bought outright for very little. Like many games of its kind, you're forced to buy chunks of their own form of currency, Station Cash.
