Hello, my name is Meredith Andrews from Little Shop of Crafts in New York City, here for About.com. We all know how to make valentines for Valentine's Day, but today I am going to teach you how to make a beautiful stained glass vase.

Valentine Vase Craft Supplies

All you need for this project are:
  • tissue paper in any color you'd like, but today I picked pink, dark pink, and red
  • a bottle, any bottle will do
  • glue that will dry clear

Prepare the Vase

You want to take your glass bottle, wash it, take any labels off, and then you're ready to start.

Tear the Tissue Paper

All we're going to be doing is tearing tissue paper into different shapes and then gluing it on top of the bottle. I like to get a few pieces torn off first just to give myself a start.

Don't worry too much about getting the same size or shape for the different pieces because it makes it look nicer if they're a little bit different all over.

Decorate the Valentine Vase Craft

We're going to be getting a little bit hands on with this, using your fingers to spread out the glue. Then you place your tissue paper on top of the glue and then just pat it down. You're going to have some glue on your fingers and that's good because that's going to seal in the top of the paper. Don't worry about getting all of the edges because they'll overlap and that way they'll all get glued down.

It's up to you how much you want to overlap the different colors. You can overlap them just one at a time. You can go over about 3 different times and get a lot of different colors and different effects.

Don't worry about the white spots that the glue is making because those will all dry clear and even out once it dries.

And now you have a beautiful vase to put your valentine's flowers in.
