Transcript:Hanukkah Star of David Box Craft
Hello, my name is Meredith Andrews from little shop of crafts in New York City here for About.com. Today were going to be making a wooden Star of David box for Chanukah. This can be used for pencils or pretty much anything you have around the house and kids really enjoy stacking the pieces up and looking at the different angles that are formed inside the star.Hanukkah Craft Supplies
For this project you’ll need glue and popsicle sticks. You'll want to get a box from a craft supply store, they cost about six dollars and you'll need about 150 for this project.Form a Star of David
First, get three popsicle sticks and arrange them in a triangle. The tips should be touching, but not over lapping. Now I've got three more popsicle sticks and layer an upside down triangle. This forms your first Star of David and it will show you where you're going to be placing your glue dots. For the next layer were going to be putting glue dots on every intersection.Build the Hanukkah Craft Box
And then recreate the first triangle. Now you'll put more glue dots on the intersections and recreate the second triangle. Now you repeat these two steps over and over until you get your box to a height that you'd like it to be. I built mine to hold pencils, so it's really up to you how tall you’d like it.Once you've placed enough popsicle sticks to make it as tall as you'd like it you can add a cardboard bottom, you can paint it or can pretty much do anything else you'd like to it. The options are endless.
