Hi, this is Angela with About.com and today I am going to show you how to make this fun Salt and Pepper Halloween costume.Supplies for the Salt and Pepper Costume for Kids
You will need:- two craft hats
- a can of silver spray paint
- scissors
- hot glue
- boning
- one yard white fabric
- one yard black fabric
- a black turtleneck
- a white turtleneck
- needle and thread
- fabric glue
- a tape measure
- a piece of white and black felt
- a set of white and black shoelaces
Make S and P Signs for the Salt and Pepper Costume for Kids
First take your yard of fabric and fold it in half. Sew the seams together down the long side to make a tube. Do this for the white and the black fabric. Print out the letter P and the letter S on your computer printer and cut them out for a template.Lay the P on the piece of white felt and trace and lay the S on the piece of black felt and trace. Cut them out and glue them to the front of your fabric. Be sure and place some paper between the fabric when you glue so your fabric does not stick together.
Finish the Salt and Pepper Costume for Kids
Now, install the boning at the top and bottom of the tubes by pinning the fabric over and stitching. Cut both the sets of shoe strings in half and hot glue them to the top of the tubes. these will be used to tie on the children's shoulders. To finish, spray the craft hats with silver spray paint and let them dry. Have fun trick-or-treating.Thanks for watching. To learn more, visit us on the web at About.com.
