Supplies for this project are pretty straight forward. You will need 1 quart Mason jars, The dry ingredients from your Cookie recipe, and material for decorating. The decorating portion of the project is really up to you. We went to our local craft store and purchased a variety of ribbons, cloth, and craft supplies. With a little imagination and creativity you can create Cookie jar mixes as holiday gifts, birthday presents, special occasions or just for fun.As you start this project you may want to asses the age level of your assistants to determine what parts of the project they will become most involved with. Pre-measuring ingredients is a good idea when working with toddlers. They can still help fill the jars, however you know that the measurements are correct. For older children it can become a learning opportunity as they determine what measuring devices they need utilize to create their mix. You may also find that if you are working with very young children that you may want to fill the jars yourself and have them help with the jar decoration.
Clean Jars and Pack with the Cookie Mix Dry Ingredients

With toddlers, hand prints can help make a great keepsake. Use a paint designed (fix wording) to be used on glass. Try different shaped jars. They also can create a very unique look. Just make sure that it is big enough to hold your dry ingredients.Add Recipe and Instructions to the Cookie Mix Gift Jars
