Hi, I'm Rebecca Culhane for About.com. Today I'm going to show you how to make a Pin the Nose on the Jack O Lantern Game. A game like this is perfect for your kids Halloween party, and can be made in about 10 minutes with some supplies from your local craft store.

For the Pin the Nose on the Jack O' Latern Game, You'll Need

  • A Blindfold
  • Black and Orange Poster Board
  • Green Construction Paper
  • Poster Tack
  • Tape
  • Pencil
  • Silver Marker
  • Scissors
  • Black Marker (Optional)

Sketch and Cut the Jack O' Lantern Shapes for the Game

Start by lightly sketching the outline of the pumpkin onto the orange poster board with a pencil. The Pumpkin should take up a majority of the room on your poster board. When you've got an outline your happy with, use your scissors to cut the pumpkin out from the rest of the poster board.

Next you'll draw an outline of the stem on the green construction paper using your pencil. When finished, cut the stem out using your scissors and attach it to the pumpkin using a piece of tape to attach it to the back.

From the black poster board we are going to cut the eyes, mouth, and noses for the Jack O Lantern. It's easiest to mark a rectangle across the entire width of your black poster board about three inches tall. Then divide your rectangle into triangular pieces like so. Cut apart your triangles. Make sure to cut out enough noses for each child playing the game.Once all the noses are cut out, number each nose by writing a number on its face with your silver marker. 1,2,3,4 and so on until all of the noses have a number.

Using the remainder of your black poster board, sketch out a mouth for your Jack O Lantern like so. It doesn't have to be perfect, every Jack O Lantern is different. Cut out mouth of the Jack O Lantern. Attach the eyes and the mouth to the pumpkin with tape.

Mount the Jack O' Lantern on the Wall and Give Each Child a Nose

At this point you can even get the Jack O Lantern and noses laminated at a local office store for more durability. Attach a bit of poster tack or tape to the back of each nose, as well as the pumpkin. When it's time for the game, attach the Jack O Lantern to the wall. Be sure to mount the game at a height the children playing the game will be able to easily reach.

Here's how you play the game. Assign each child a nose, and have them remember the number on the nose they are given. Blindfold the first child, spin him or her three times, and let the child attempt to pin the nose on the Jack O Lantern while remaining blindfolded. Repeat this process with each child until everyone has played. The child who has placed their nose closest to where the nose belongs on the pumpkin wins the game.
