Transcript:How to Make a Handprint Ornament
Hi, I'm Scott for About.com. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a handprint ornament from About.com.
Supplies for Handprint Ornaments
To start, you'll need:
- Christmas Ball Ornaments of different colors
- White Paint
- Black Marker
- Orange or Red Marker
- Paint Brush
Instructions for Making Handprint Ornaments
To begin, paint the palm of one hand white. Then paint the middle three fingers white as well. Then, if a child is making this ornament, put the Christmas tree ball into the painted hand so that the palm is on the bottom of the ball and the fingers go up towards the hanger. Each finger will be a snowman so try to spread them out a little bit.If an adult, or someone with longer fingers, is making this ornament, put the ball at the top part of the palm right before the fingers start. Then press the three fingers around the ball.

Next, put the ball aside and let it dry. After its completely dried, take a marker and add the details. Add black dots for the eyes. Then, you can add a black (triangle) dot for the nose. More black dots for the mouth. Finally, more black dots for the buttons. Finally draw black stick arms. At the end write the year on the ornament. To add variation, try using different colored ball ornaments. You can use a red or orange marker to make a carrot nose. Now you have cute little hand print christmas ball ornaments to hang on the tree.
