Transcript:How to Make Hanukkah Wrapping Paper
Hi, I'm Aubrey for About.com. Today, I'm going to show you how to make Hanukkah Wrapping Paper using instructions from Familycrafts.About.com.
Supplies for Making Hanukkah Wrapping Paper
You'll need a few items before you begin:
- a large sheet of blue or white paper (I actually prefer to use rolls of craft paper)
- white or blue non-toxic paint
- Hanukkah sponges or cookie cutters
Tips for Making Hanukkah Wrapping Paper
If you are using a roll of craft paper, cut it to the desired length. I recommend using tempera paint for this activity because it can be easily washed off of most surfaces and clothing.
Instructions for Making Hanukkah Wrapping Paper
Pour the paint into the bottom of a flat dish. If you prefer, you can use wax paper, or a sheet of cardboard instead. I also recommend using an additional sheet of scrap paper to use as blotter paper for the sponges. Begin by dipping a sponge into the paint. If you are using white paper, you want to use blue paint and vice versus. Blot off any extra paint on your scrap paper. Now press the sponge down on the wrapping paper. Make sure you apply consistent pressure so paint is distributed evenly across the whole design.
Have fun with this, create any pattern you like with the shapes. Cookie cutters also work well. If your designs need a little touching up, you can go back with a paint brush and clean up any rough edges.
