Transcript:How to Make Cat Ears Using a HeadbandHi, This is Rebecca Culhane for About.com. Today I'm going to show you how to make cat ears out of a headband. These ears will make the perfect addition to your child's cat costume.
To Make Costume Cat Ears, You'll Need:
- Black felt
- A headband
- Hot glue gun
Select a Headband that Fits Your Child ComfortablyWhen Selecting your headband, it's a good idea to have your child along so you can insure the perfect fit. A black headband with a cloth covering will work best. But if you can't locate one a plastic black headband will do.
Cut Felt in a Cat Ear ShapeFold your black piece of felt in half. From the crease, cut up and create a cat like ear shape. When you're done, unfold the piece and place the headband on top. Refold the piece over the headband and align it to the left side of the headband. This is where the ear will sit on your child's headband. Place a bit of hot glue between the two sides of the ear and press together. Repeat the process on the right ear.
