Supplies Needed to Make Alphabet Magnets
To create your own alphabet refrigerator magnets, you will need:
- Foam
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pen
- Small magnets
Trace the Alphabet Letters
Begin your project by drawing each letter of the alphabet on sheets of craft foam using an ink pen. Craft foam can be found in most discount stores and craft stores. Craft foam is thin and easy to cut with a pair of sharp scissors.Once you have all the letters outlined on your craft paper, cut out each letter from the foam sheet.
Create the Magnets
Next, glue the magnet to the back of the letter at opposite ends. This is a great step to include your child since cutting the foam can be a tedious task. You want the alphabet letter to attach to the refrigerator well which means magnets should be present around the back of the letter. Have your child test the magnets on the refrigerator by copying various simple words and phrases from a picture book.
