Transcript:Quick Tip: Use Facebook Chat
Hi I'm Chris Davis for About.com. Instead of creating a Facebook status update, try chatting. Here's how.
Finding the Facebook Chat Button
Log into your account. In the lower right hand corner of any page, click on the chat button. A list of your friends will pop up. Any friend with a green dot is on Chat. If there is a small phone icon, they have a mobile app that will allow them to see your chat.
Chatting With Friends on Facebook
Next, click on the name of the person you want to chat with. A window will open. At the very bottom of the window, start typing your message. Hit Return or Enter on your keyboard to send the message. You can chat with multiple people by clicking on more than one friend in the chat window.
