Hi, I'm Donna Pilato, Guide to Entertaining at About.com. Today I'm going to share some ideas to create a fun table setting for springtime parties, ideal for springtime holidays or birthday parties.

Make a Table Setting Centerpiece

First, you could place a traditional flower arrangement on the table as a centerpiece. Place marbles in the bottom of a clear vase to hold your flowers, in place and choose spring blooms such as tulips or daisies.

Add in Table Setting Treats

For table confetti, I suggest jelly beans. They're easy to get at this time of the year and yummy, so don't be surprised if they mysteriously disappear by the end of your party.

Wind-up toys are another fun touch for your more playful groups of grownups or kids. They come in many varieties such as these colorful critters or robots.

Set Up the Tableware Setting

Next, set the table with bright pastel colors expressing the mood of the season. Add some interest to your seating assignments by using a nicely framed piece of slate with each guest's name written in chalk as your place cards. Throw a couple extra pieces of chalk into the arrangement for guests to use toward their own amusement. For additional color, tie the napkins with red shoestring licorice instead of napkin rings.

Put Together Goody Bags

Don't forget to send your guests home with a party favor. Decorate simple paper party bags with rubber stamps. Then fill them with a variety of candies and small toys and your guests can continue the fun at home.
