Transcript:Scrolls Tea Party Invitations
Hello, I'm Bonnie Zaiss for About.com.
You're having a tea party and hand delivering the invitations. Why not make them unique? This tea party invitation is made up of some pretty patterned paper, with a personal note on the inside wrapped up with a beautiful ribbon and a tea tag.
Make the Scroll Tea Party Invitation's Tea Tag
Let's start off with the tea tag. Cut a small rectangle 3/4-inch-by-2-and-1/4-inches from a white sheet of paper. Now fold it in half and cut the inside corners like so to create your tag shape. Cut some twine about 5-6 inches long -- you'll trim that down in a minute. Use a glue stick on both sides of the tag shape. Now attach the twine onto the tag, fold and press firmly.
Next, we're going to use some rubber stamps and brown ink to print out the words: "tea 4 u" on this custom tea tag. You can create any words you'd like.
Now we're going to create our invitation. Here's what you'll need: choose a sheet of pretty patterned paper for the outside of the tea party invitation. We're measuring this one out to 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches.
Information for the Scroll Tea Party Invitation
On the inside of the scroll, will be all the party information on a separate sheet. You either hand-write or use a computer to type the following information:
- The day, date, and time of the tea party
- The host's name
- The complete address of the party location
- A phone and/or email address
- And any other special details about the party
Assemble the Scroll Tea Party Invitation
Now, lay the invitation information inside of the colored background. Make sure they're the same size. Now simply roll them up together into a small scroll. Use a beautiful ribbon or twine to tie it together and don't forget your custom tea tag.
Your guests will love this fun and unique tea party invitation.
