Transcript:How to Make a Baby Blanket CenterpieceHi there! I'm Kimberly Van Diepen, and I'm here to show you today this great baby blanket centerpiece for any baby shower. I think you're going to love it.
Instructions for Making a Baby Blanket CenterpieceFirst thing we're going to do is we're going to take these four bundled baby blankets that I bought in a package and I bought this tin at a Dollar Store. We're going to take the baby blankets and I'm just going to stuff them inside and I want them to kind of branch out over my tin. Now I'm going to put this to this side and we're going to come back to that in just a few minutes.
Basis of a Baby Blanket CenterpieceNow the basis of the project is to make a wish for baby, so when the guests come in they can put a little tag onto the branches that we're going to provide. So let's make the tags.
Making the Baby Blanket CenterpieceThe first thing I did was I dye cut a tag from the Two Tags Die Cut from Stampin' Up! I'm going to use my little turtle and a pigment ink. And the reason I'm using pigment ink, it's a wet ink and I'm not embossing, but it does give a muted tone, a muted look. Now I'm just going to stamp that at the bottom of my tag, just like that. We need to create a hole. I'm going to use my Crop-A-Dile; I'm going to create a big hole at the top. And then I'm going to insert my jumbo bran and I'm going to set it with the Crop-A-Dile. Now once we have that set, all we have to do is take some linen thread and we're going to tie this on, and I'm going to make a knot up here, because we're going to hang these from the tree limbs.
So the next thing we want to do is we want to add our stick, so we can add our tags onto the sticks. You're going to take the sticks and you're going to insert them right into the center of those baby blankets. Now when you're finding your sticks, you want sticks that are good enough that have a little ridge to hang those tags off of. We're going to just add that last stick into the center and place our tag. And there you have a great baby blanket centerpiece for a baby shower.
