Transcript:How to Apply Fairy Makeup

Hi, I'm Kacie Marie, this is About.com and I'm going to show you how to do some fairy make-up.

Tools for Applying Fairy Makeup

The tools you'll need are some eyeliner, some powder and I have some shimmer powder, some red or pink lipstick, some pink blush and a blush brush. A little glitter gel can't hurt and whatever shadows you have in your kit, the sparklier, the better. And some mascara.

Start with Powder

First we're going to start with our powder. You just want to use this so you can even your skin out. It's going to give you a nice, fresh canvas to start with.

Apply Eyeshadow

Next we're going to get into our eye shadows. I'm going to start with the lightest color I have, a nice white shimmer. I'll put the white all over my entire lid; I'm actually going to extend it all the way up to my eyebrow. You want to continue it on the bottom lid, just be gentle around your eyes, we're going to do nice little soft circles and extend it past your eyes. Feel free to be loose with this. Think fairy tale.

Next I'm going to pick two more colors to put on my eyes. I'm going to start with pink. I'm going to put this pink right in the crease covering a little bit of the lid as well. You want to extend it a little past your eye that makes you look a little more like a character. Be loose with these strokes. Next we're going to pick our second color. I'm picking a yellowish-gold cause it's extra sparkly. I'm putting this gold right on my eyelid giving a nice color highlight, you can extend it past your eye like we did with the pink, this makes it extra colorful.

Apply Eyeliner and Mascara

Next we're going to get into our eyeliner. This is where we really get to be artists. You can use any color you'd like-I'm going to use black today. You're going to gently pull your skin back toward your hairline and follow your eyelash line. This is where the magic begins. You can really be unique and creative with your design. You can do any kind of doodle that you'd like- a nice circular design and I'll continue to draw until I'm happy. Nice creative swoops, looks magical.

Next I'm going to use my mascara. I'm going to cover it from root to tip and really put the most amount on the outside of your eye. This makes it look more fairy-like.

Create Rosy Cheeks and Lots of Shimmer

Next we're going to make our cheeks nice and rosy. We're going to put it (blush) right on the apples of your cheeks, nice and pink. Next I'm going to use my shimmery powder, I'm just going to brush it on my entire face, give myself a little extra glimmer. And a little on my neck.

Now I'm going to put on my lipstick. I'm using red, if you have pink or a clear gloss that works too.

Glitter Completes the Fairy Look

And last but not least, we're going to add a little glitter. Put the glitter wherever you'd like- I'm going to add a little everywhere, right around the eyes, around the artwork we just did, on the cheeks, and I'm going to put a little on my eyelids. For a final touch, I'm going to add the glitter to my lips.
