Transcript:How to Create a Digital Publication Using InDesign
Hi, I’m Herman Mak for About.com, and today I’m going to show you how to create a digital publication in InDesign.
Select the Size of the InDesign Document
Choose to create a new document and select the page size to fit your publication requirement such as for iPhone, iPad, and so on. Here we will choose Android 10" for this example. Click OK.
Insert the amount of pags you need by clicking the "create new page" icon in the page panel. For this example, we will create 3 pages. Click the icon three times.
Click the first page and insert a cover page image. Pop in an image, add some text and put in whatever you need to make it look nice.
On the other pages, insert your text, images and so on to create your design of this digital publication. Remember to keep each page interesting by inserting an image or using hyperlink so that the reader can click into the text or image and visit other websites for further information.
Save the InDesign Document
After all your design and layouts are done, click file -> export.
Choose EPUB for digital publication format and save your file! You can customize your file settings for your preference and click ok to save. You may now transfer the epub file to your mobile device and it will be ready to use and publish!
