Hi, I am Natasha Levitan for About.com. Before you send your file to your printer, you need to export it to PDF.What Is a PDF?
PDF is a much smaller file compare to the bulky he large indesign file which can be upwards of 25-45mb file. PDF will shrink your file into approximately a 5mb file which is perfect for emailing to your printing company.Choose a File to Export
So let's open our newsletter. Go to File, Open, click on your newsletter. he top menu choose file export. A new windows pops up asking you which format you want to export it, choose adobe PDF, click save.Common Options When Exporting Files to PDF
There are lots of options that are offered in the window, so let's look the ones you're more likely to commonly use.In the top choice, choose high quality. If you choose anything less than this, whatever that you end up exporting may end up as grainy. The other thing is, check the option of 'view pdf after exporting. Once your adobe pdf format is complete it will open up so you can do last spell check and verify before you sending it off to the printer.
Export the File to PDF
Now you're ready to export and click ok. The exporting process usually takes 15-20 seconds and maybe up ato a minute depending on the speed of your processor. Here's InDesign file in PDF format.Check the Final PDF
