Parking is Limited Near the National Mall
Public parking is very limited near the National Mall. On-street parking in Washington, DC is restricted during morning and evening rush hours and most of the free on-street parking is restricted to two hours. If you do choose to park in the downtown area, you should expect to walk a good distance to popular Washington, DC attractions.
Consider Parking Garages While Visiting D.C.
With that being said, here are some large parking lots and parking garages for you to consider. Hains Point at East Potomac Park is located on Ohio Drive and has 320 parking spaces. This parking lot is free and convenient to the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial.
At 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE, you can find Union Station. Over 2,000 parking spaces are available, and prices range from six to twenty dollars. The parking garage is close to the east end of the National Mall near the U. S. Capitol Building.
Colonial Parking Garages has many paid parking areas in DC. Some of the closest locations to the National Mall are:700 11th St NW, 601 Pennsylvania Ave NW, and 122 C St NW.
Parking Management, Inc. is one of the largest paid parking providers in Washington DC. Some locations near the National Mall include:1220 E Street NW, 1111 Pennsylvania Ave NW, and 875 D Street NW.
