Hi, I'm Kaytie Sproul here for About.com, and today we're going to review how you can show love through text messages.
Don't Hesitate to Show Love Through Text Messages
There's no time like the present, so when you feel an overwhelming sense of love or attraction for your mate, grab your cell phone and get the message across immediately. You may be wondering where to get started. Think about a time of day when you know the object of your affection will be near his or her cell phone, and likely to receive your message immediately. That's the time to send a message of love.
Be Direct When You Show Love Through Text Messages
One option is to take the direct approach. If you feel it, text it. Be specific and tell them exactly why you love them. If you've got a sentimental streak, you might say something like: "I love you because you bring out the best in me."
Expressing why you love them via text message can also be done romantically, flirtatiously, or erotically -- it just depends on your personal style and what you're feeling at the moment.
Send Favorite Quotes to Show Love Through Text Messages
Another great way to show love through text messages is to send your favorite love quote. Whether it's from a poem or a song, you can express a lot through the immortal words of others. If you have a literary side, you might pull something from one of Shakespeare's sonnets, like "My love is a fever." If you’ve got music in your heart, try something like: "Your love is the coal that makes this train roll."
Send Kisses to Show Love Through Text Messages
If you really want to make it exciting for your sweetheart, text them a kiss. You can send them on a scavenger hunt of sorts (via text messages) to find little treasures that you've hidden for them. Get a bag of chocolate kisses and plant them in various locations. Text them a clue like, "I've got a kiss for you in the car." When they reach their car, they'll find the chocolate kiss you've left waiting for them in the open glove compartment, along with another clue for the next one.
You may not have the time or eloquence to write out a traditional love letter, but anyone can grab their phone and send a quick text. It's all about knowing what to say and when to say it.
