Hi, I’m Pamela French for About.com and today I’m going to give you some tips for touring Nassau in one day.

Nassau is a very popular port for many of cruise line, so if you are not going as part of an organized cruise excursion, here are some helpful tips.

Start Early

Tip #1 – Get off the ship as early as you can after docking, so you can have a full day of fun. There is a lot to do and see and you don’t want to miss out.

Atlantis Aquaventure

Tip # 2 – If you’re an adventure seeker and love water parks, then Atlantis Aquaventure is a must. It’s the new centerpiece of the Atlantis Resort and fun for the entire family! You can get a water taxi to Paradise Island from the ship and that is where the Atlantis Resort is located.

Sea Life Attractions

Tip #3 - Get your snorkel out. Nassau is a snorkeler’s paradise. The clear blue water with its abundance of exotic fish, stingrays, and vibrant colored water creatures, will brighten anyone’s days.

Tip #4 If little fishes aren’t your thing, head to the Blue Lagoon Island or Dolphin Cay, to play with the Dolphins. This is an opportunity to interact with these gorgeous animals and bring a smile to your face!

Shopping and Food

Tip #5 – If you’re not too water logged, walk around the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island and take in the ambiance, the shopping and food to name a few. And don’t forget to get some local conch salad before leaving Nassau.
