Hi I'm Pamela French for About.com and today we’re going to be giving you some tips for choosing cruise excursions.
Depending on where you’re going and what type of vacation you’re looking to have, here are some general tips on how to choose cruise excursions.
What is Your Cruise Budget
For the budget conscious traveler, tip number one is to figure out how much money you’re willing to spend over the course of the entire cruise and this will help you decide how much you have to spend on excursions.
What Cruise Excursions are Included
Ships offer a wide variety of excursions to choose from, and when you book an excursion through the cruise line you don’t have to worry about making it back to the ship on time or having to pay for independent transportation – its all included in the cost of the tour. Not to mention, the charge is conveniently applied to your on board account so you can just pay for it all at the end of your vacation.
Family Friendly Excursions
For those traveling with younger children or elderly adults, you should consider how much walking or activity you are able to do. Some of the excursions are off the beaten path and some are quite easy to get too. Typically when you arrive at a destination there is more than one excursion to choose from, so know which ones you’ll be able to do without the kids complaining!
Plan Your Time on the Cruise
Know your time frame, that’s super important to consider when choosing excursions as you don’t want to miss out on anything, but you also don’t have all the time in the world.
