Hi I'm Nick Jaynes for About.com and today we'll be talking Oregon Ducks football A perennial powerhouse in the Pac -12, the ducks are one of the most exciting teams to watch in college football, and will be for years to come.

About the University of Oregon Ducks Football Program

The home of the ducks is Autzen stadium, located very close to campus in Eugene, Oregon. Even though Oregon is notorious for rain, if you ask a duck fan they will tell you it never rains at Autzen. These fans are some of the most die-hard in the country, which makes playing at Autzen very difficult. Every down the opposing team has to deal with the entire stadium yelling "O," making it very difficult to call plays. It is known to be one of the loudest stadiums in college football.The ducks are also one of the more fashionable teams in college football.

University of Oregon Ducks Football Fashion Moments

While they do receive some criticism for it, they have a variety of different uniforms featuring their traditional green and yellow colors. Occasionally they will even break out all black ones, or neon green and yellow. Thanks to Nike, there have been many different variations.

University of Oregon Ducks Football Coaches

One of the most successful coaches at Oregon is Chip Kelly. He is known for his bold play style, usually going for it on 4th down and for the two-point conversion after a touchdown. The ducks run a spread style offense that features a lot of speed. They rely heavily on their running game, which opens up the ability to pass later on in the game. Typically the Ducks have a quarterback who could run the ball in addition to throwing to add another variable to their offense. They operate mainly out of the gun to give the quarterback more time in the backfield. Under Kelly, the Ducks have gone to the 2010 Rose Bowl and 2011 BCS National Championship game, but lost both games.

Rivalries for the University of Oregon Ducks

The Ducks biggest rivalry is with the Oregon State Beavers, their cross town rival. The game is known as the Civil War game. Another rivalry is known as the border war with the Washington Huskies.Every college football player dreams of making it big and going to the NFL, and the ducks have produced some talent lately. Between 1996 and 2008 five ducks have been selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Jonathan Stewart, and Haloti Ngata are two, who are still enjoying success today. Ngata is a defensive lineman for Baltimore and Stewart is a running back for the panthers. Under Chip Kelly the Ducks won the 2012 Rose Bowl.
