Hi, I’m chef Roblé for About.com. Today we’re going to learn how to make a vodka infused watermelon. Here we go.Ingredients for Vodka Infused Watermelon
Here are our ingredients.- 1 watermelon
- 1 bottle of vodka (750 ml)
Open the Watermelon
The first thing you want to do is to draw a circle on top of the watermelon. The circle needs to be as big as the bottom of the neck of the bottle of vodka. So we are just going to draw our circle right here. The first step done. The second step is you want to take a knife and cut right around the circle and remove this part of the watermelon. Pull that piece right out.Pour Vodka in Watermelon
Now we are going to take a spoon and scoop out some of the flesh inside of this watermelon. This will make space to add the vodka. That should be enough. You see the hole right there? For our next step we want to take a bath towel and wrap it around the watermelon to stabilize it. We don’t want it rolling over or tipping over during our next step. This thing is not going anywhere. So our next step we are going to take this bottle of vodka and invert it right into the watermelon. Let that sit there for four hours. You can let it go for as long as 12 hours. So basically this watermelon is going to soak up as much of this vodka as it can.
Chill and Serve the Vodka Infused Watermelon
And four hours later you can see that it’s watermelon has taken quite a bit of this vodka. A larger watermelon would take more vodka and it also depends on the moisture level that is already inside of the watermelon. So now we will just remove this vodka bottle. Did it without making a mess. Now we are ready to chill the watermelon and then we will cut it and serve it. Off to chill. Now we are ready to slice and serve. Here is your vodka infused watermelon. Thanks for watching To learn more visit us on the web at About.com.
