Transcript:Top 5 Martini Cocktail Recipes
Hi, I'm Josh Finocchiaro from Annie's Cafe & Bar in Denver, Colorado. I'm here for About.com to show you how to make 5 of the top martini cocktails.
Classic Cosmopolitan
To get started, I'm going to show you how to make a Classic Cosmopolitan. You will need:
- 1 and a 1/2 oz vodka
- 1 oz triple sec
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/4 oz cranberry juice
- a lime wedge for garnish.
Pour 1 1/2 oz of vodka into a shaker packed with ice. Now add 1 oz of triple sec. Pour in 1/2 oz of lime juice, add 1/4 oz of cranberry juice. Shake well. Garnish with a lime and serve.
French Cosmopolitan
Now, I'm going to show you how to make another martini style cocktail, a French Cosmopolitan. Before you begin, you will need:
- 1 oz citrus vodka
- 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
- a splash of lime juice
- a splash of cranberry juice
- 1/2 oz sweet and sour mix
- a splash of Grenadine.
Pour 1 oz citrus vodka into an ice-filled shaker. Now add in 1/2 oz Grand Marnier. Pour in sour mix. Next, add 1/2 oz cranberry juice. Now add 1/2 oz of sweet and sour mix and 1/4 oz lime juice. Shake well. Strain this into a chilled martini glass. Finally, you will pour a dash of of grenadine into cocktail. The drink is ready to serve.
Espresso Martini
Now, I'm going to show you how to make an Espresso Martini. You will need:
- 1 oz chilled espresso
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 1 1/2 oz coffee liqueur
- 1 oz white creme de cacao
Pour 1 oz chilled espresso into an ice-packed shaker. Now, add in 1 1/2 oz vodka. Pour in 1 1/2 oz of coffee liqueur. Finally, add 1 oz white creme de cacao. Shake very well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve.
Chocolate Martini
Next, I'm going to show you how to make a Chocolate Martini. You will need:
- 1 1/4 oz chocolate liquor
- 1 1/4 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz amaretto
- chocolate syrup
Pour 1 1/4 oz chocolate liquor into a shaker filled with ice. Now pour in 1 1/4 oz of vodka. Add 1/2 oz of amaretto. Shake very well. Now drizzle a pattern of chocolate syrup into a chilled cocktail glass. Strain the mixture into the glass. You are now ready to serve.
Martini
Finally, I'm going to show you how to make a basic martini. You will need:
- 2 1/2 oz gin
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- a twist of lemon
- an olive for garnish
Pour 2 1/2 oz gin into a shaker filled with ice. Now add 1/2 oz dry vermouth. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist the lemon over the drink and then add as a garnish.
