Hi, I’m Josh from Annie’s Cafe & Bar in Denver Colorado. I’m here for About.com to show you how to make 5 Winter Holiday Cocktails.
Iceburg Cocktail:
To get started, I’m going to show you how to make an iceburg. You will need: 2 oz of vodka and 1 oz of or peppermint schnapps. Begin by pouring 2 oz of vodka into a shaker packed with ice. Now add in 1 oz of peppermint schnapps. Go ahead and strain this mixture into a chilled cocktail glass and you are ready to serve. An iceburg is great for the holidays because this minty treat will warm you up on a cold day.
Dandy Shandy Cocktail:
Next, I’m going to show you how to make a dandy shandy. You will need: 8 oz of stout or porter beer and 8 oz ginger beer. Begin by pouring the ginger beer into a pint glass. Now pour the beer into the glass over a spoon to ensure separation. Allow this to settle for a moment and serve. The combination of ginger and stout beer makes for a zesty, rich holiday drink.
Irish Winter Cocktail:
Now, I’m going to show you how to make an irish winter. You will need: 1 oz of coffee liqueur, 1 oz of Irish whiskey, hot coffee, and whipped cream. Pour 1 oz of Irish whiskey into a coffee mug. Now add 1 oz of coffee liqueur. Top with hot coffee. Add whipped cream for a garnish.
Nuts & Berries Cocktail:
Next, I’m going to show you how to make a nuts & berries cocktail. You will need: 1 oz of hazelnut liqueur, 1 oz of raspberry liqueur, and 2 oz of cream. Pour 1 oz of hazelnut liqueur into a rocks glass filled with ice. Now add 1 oz of raspberry liqueur. Pour in 2 oz of cream. Add a straw. Give it a stir and you are ready to serve. This creamy drink tastes like nuts and berries and is perfect for the holidays.
Gibson Cocktail:
Finally, I’m going to show you how to make a gibson cocktail. You will need: 2 1/2 oz gin, 1/2 oz dry vermouth, and 3 cocktail onions for garnish. To get started, pour 2 1/2 oz of gin into a shaker filled with ice. Now, add 1/2 oz of dry vermouth. Shake very well. Go ahead and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 cocktail onions. This makes a great winter, holiday drink because the garnish looks like snowballs. Thank you for watching, for more information, go to Food.About.com.
