Transcript:How to Make Shrimp With Lobster Sauce Stir-Fry

Hi, I'm Stephanie Gallagher for, and today, we're making shrimp with lobster sauce.

Ingredients for Shrimp With Lobster Sauce Stir-Fry

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 1 cup chicken stock or broth
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet white wine, such as Glen Ellen White Zinfandel
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1-1/4 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. stir fry oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2-4 spring onions, chopped
  • 3/4 lb. shrimp, peeled, deveined and butterflied
  • 2 egg whites, bean with 2 Tbsp. water

Instructions for Making Shrimp With Lobster Sauce Stir-Fry

In a small bowl, combine the chicken stock, white wine, soy sauce and sugar, and whisk until smooth. Add the water to the cornstarch, and mix until the cornstarch is dissolved.Now heat a wok or large frying pan over medium high heat. Add the oil, and when it's hot, add the garlic and spring onions, and stir fry for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic. Add the shrimp and stir fry for about 2 minutes. Add the chicken broth mixture, and bring to a boil, letting the shrimp cook for 1 minute. Re-stir the cornstarch mixture, and add to the wok, and then immediately add the egg white mixture, slowly and gently stirring to break them up with a fork, just like this. You don't want to over-stir the egg whites. When the sauce thickens, the shrimp is ready. Serve the shrimp with lobster sauce over pork fried rice.
