Transcript:Summer Crafts for Kids: Wind Chime Mobile
Hi, I'm Katherine Lee for About.com and this is Nanette from Artscetera.com and this is Sydney and today we're going to make a wonderful wind chime mobile for you.
Making a Wind Chime Modile with Kids
All right. We have our paper tube…easy. A piece of paper, we're going to roll that around like that. Simple simple. We're going to tape it up, keep it in place and then we are going to just push those edges in like that – okay.
Then we have to hang it, of course. So what we're going to do is the string will go through and we would just tie it around to make sure that we could hang our little trucks and things on it.
And then you just tie it. You just tie it like that and then you take one of your smaller strings and you take whatever you're hanging - we're doing cars today because this is a kind of boy thing – but you can do anything. You can do maybe shells? – shells are nice. If you want to gather you can gather pieces of driftwood.
Making the Rest of the Mobile
And then this is a string that you put on the bottom?
Right that's the string that you're going to hang your objects on
And then to hang it from the top, you take your Exacto, which we never let our kids touch. Quick hole on the side-
So you make a whole lot on the top here. Exactly.
Okay. Then the string through. The string through. You tie your knot and you're set. You're good to go!
And we have a mobile.
